Dear all,
Mark your calendars for the first presentation in our UX Practitioner Conversation Series. Are you working on a user experience related project in your archives? Are you interested in gathering insights about your users to help improve your services? Or are you new to UX and interested in learning more? We hope you'll join us on March 6 at 1 PM EST for a conversation with Adam Prumm, Principle UX Designer at SAP Concur and member of the UX Section's UX Principles in Archives Working Group.
To register, go to: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/sCzesh0ISIa1VXzQOjN98g#/registration.
The UX Practitioner Conversation Series will kick off with a Coffee Chat style event designed to provide an introduction for anyone interested in how the UX process can create value for individuals and organizations. The session will start with a 20-30 minute opening presentation by Adam, who will discuss how qualitative and quantitative insights into user behavior are translated into designs and decisions that improve usability of services and experiences. This presentation is intentionally structured as a beginner-friendly entry point, offering archivists and allied professionals a shared vocabulary and foundational understanding of how user-centered design functions within professional UX teams and how UX methods create value for both users and organizations.
After the presentation we will move into group discussion. We’d love for this to be an informal conversation, and have started a shared document for questions both in advance of and during the meeting: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KjHdzh1crmUqCToJdw886b6P-oRLTxISXDBdg9UuRlI/edit?usp=sharing. Please add any questions you might have, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Best,
UX Section Steering Committee
