On May 5, 2025, the Archival Workers' Collective launched a story-gathering initiative to gather and amplify stories of how the Trump Administration has impacted archives and archival workers. We have shared stories from institutions facing budget cuts, censorship, project cancellations, job losses, professional and economic precarity, and immigration concerns. These blog posts have gathered over 1,000 views and reached viewers from over 30 countries around the world. We hope through this blog series that we can share stories of impact, adaptability, and resilience. Share your story in the AWC story-gathering form and browse our blog to see the submitted stories!
If you have been impacted by federal layoffs, please view this Society of American Archivists resources for impacted federal workers and Historic Preservation & Cultural Resources Mutual Aid Network: Interest Form.
Would you like to get involved? We are always looking for collaborators to help draft up blog posts. Please join us.
In solidarity,
Members of the Archival Workers' Collective
