The Science, Technology, and Health Care Section invites you to a virtual lunch presentation with guest speakers
Rachel Taketa (UCSF) and
Amanda Norman (JHU) as they discuss their work with the
Opioid Industry Document Archive,
April 9, 2026, 12-1p EST.
The Industry Documents Library (IDL) is a digital archive of documents which have been publicly released from industries that influence public health. It was established at UCSF
in 2002 to house millions of digitized documents made public in historic litigation against the tobacco industry. The IDL has since expanded to include documents publicly disclosed from the opioid, drug, chemical, food, and fossil fuel industries to preserve open access to this information and to support research that leads to the protection and improvement of public health.
Rachel and Amanda will discuss OIDA's redaction efforts, the UCSF-JHU partnership, and the larger IDL.
Join us on Zoom. Open to all SAA Members.
