    The Library of Congress is accepting applications for its Librarian in Residence Program. The deadline to apply is April 7. The program is open to students who earned or will complete their Master's degree in library and information science from an American Library Association-accredited program between December 1, 2021 and June 30, 2023.

    The successful candidate for the Archives and Special Collections track will be located in the American Folklife Center to work on a project to examine division practices for determining and communicating legal and moral collection rights information. The incumbent would embark on the following activities:

    • working through a set of legacy collection agreements to clarify legal and ethical obligations
    • making recommendations for how/where to digitally document rights and usage information in emerging systems
    • planning for an implementation of rightstatement.org labels for digital collections
    • refining staff protocols for communicating collection rights and usage information
