The nomination deadline for the Preservation Steering Committee Section Election has been extended! Nominations are now due by Tuesday, May 27th!
The Preservation Section is looking for candidates to join our steering committee! If you are excited by preservation and interested in sharing your skills and knowledge, this might be the position for you!
We are seeking candidates for the following positions:
· Vice-Chair/Chair Elect (3-year term) - NOMINATIONS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED
· Member-At-Large (2-year term)
If you are interested in nominating yourself or if you would like to nominate someone else, please send the name and a 4 or 5 sentence statement of interest/professional bio to Kat Trammell at (ktrammell@usn.org) by Tuesday, May 27th!
The Steering Committee meets by Zoom once a month, with other business conducted by email. Attendance at the Annual Meeting is not required.
The Vice-Chair/Chair elect serves for one year as the Vice-Chair and the following year as the Chair, and final year as the Past-Chair.
As Vice-Chair, you will
- Assist the Chair in carrying out the work of the section
- Prepare minutes of the section business meeting and steering committee meetings
As Chair, you will:
- Appoint committee chairs, and appoint committee members in consultation with the committee chairs
- Lead monthly Steering Committee meetings
- Preside over the section business meeting at the SAA Annual Meeting
- Serve on the Preservation Awards Subcommittee of the Society of American Archivists Awards Committee
As Past Chair, you will:
- Lead the Nomination process for the Steering Committee leadership
