The Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC) is seeking candidates interested in serving as the Assistant Archivist at the Joel E. Ferris Research Archives.
Located in the MAC, the world-renowned Joel E. Ferris Research Archives offers researchers from around the world an opportunity to explore our vast collection. The Joel E. Ferris Research Archives collects and preserves first-person primary source materials (letters, diaries, photographs, audio-visual recordings, architectural drawings, maps, and regional business records), which reflect the evolution of the Inland Northwest including the tribes of the Columbia Plateau and 20th century commerce and community development.<u1:p></u1:p>
The Assistant Archivist plays a crucial role in providing broader access to the MAC's museum and archival collections. Reporting to the Curator of Archives and Special Collections, the Assistant Archivist provides reference services, assists in archival arrangement and description projects, catalogs collection records, completes digital reproduction orders, and assists in daily operations of the Joel E. Ferris Research Archives. <u1:p></u1:p>
Salary: $3,167.00 - $4,216.00 Monthly
Location: Spokane County – Spokane, WA
Job Type: Full Time - Permanent
Schedule: 40 hours a week, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 to 5:00pm*
*This position is telework eligible after successfully completing the six-month probationary period. A hybrid arrangement would be possible, up to two days of telework per week.<u1:p></u1:p>
