DAMS, DPS, and System Procurement: Where to Begin
Are you in the market for an electronic records management or digital preservation platform? Are the choices a little bewildering? Please join us for a discussion of the differences between Digital Asset Management Systems and Digital Preservation Systems and an overview of the Digital Preservation Coalition's Procurement Toolkit. Joining us will be digital technology expert and consultant Amy Rudersdorf and the Digital Preservation Coalition's head of research and practice, Paul Wheatley. Amy and Paul will each give a short presentation, followed by plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Amy Rudersdorf is director of consulting operations at AVP. She brings over two decades of expertise in digital asset management (DAM), helping organizations create effective strategies for preserving digital content and ensuring optimal accessibility. With experience across museums, academia, government, and nonprofit sectors, she offers a well-rounded perspective in implementing and managing DAM and digital preservation programs for organizations of all sizes. She actively engages in the National Digital Stewardship Alliance and the Digital Preservation Coalition, sharing insights on digital preservation best practices, technology selection, and DAM systems.
Paul Wheatley has over 20 years of experience working in digital preservation, from the seminal Cedars Project in the late 1990s, through leading the Digital Preservation Team at the British Library, to steering community driven approaches to curation as part of the Spruce Project. He has since worked as an independent consultant advising organisations on their digital preservation activities and currently provides support to members of the Digital Preservation Coalition as the Head of Research and Practice.
We hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please reach out to Brenna Edwards at brenna.edwards01@gmail.com or Tyler Cline at tgcline@gmail.com
