    --------------------------------  FULL CALL FOR PARTICIPATION--------------------------------

Research Study Title: Climate Ready, Set, Go! Investigating the Role of Archival Instruction in K-12 Disaster Education

    Principal Researcher: Itza Carbajal  <itzac@uw.edu>

    Dear Potential Participant,

Please allow me a moment of your time to ask for your assistance with an ongoing research study titled, "Climate Ready, Set, Go! Investigating the Role of Archival Instruction in K-12 Disaster Education." My name is Itza Carbajal and I am a PhD candidate at the Information School at the University of Washington. My research focuses on the materialized memories of young people, the role of archival institutions in educating young learners, and how this can contribute to urgent educational topics like disasters brought forth by Climate Change.

I am writing to request your support or participation in my research study about the use of archives in K-12 teaching and learning with a focus on disaster education. Specifically, I am seeking participants that identify as archivists as this group represents one of my ikey populations of interests.

As a archivist, I seek your perspectives on how your current K-12 education can or does use archives (defined below) when teaching about the Climate Crisis, disasters, or other environmental changes.

This email requests participation for focus group interviews scheduled for June, August, and September of 2025. Please fill out the appropriate questionnaire to register your interest:

If you are unable or uninterested in participating, but would be willing to share this call for participants, I would appreciate it.

More information on the study can be found here: bit.ly/ClimateReadyStudy

This study is supported by the University of Washington Information School and is completely voluntary. If you have any questions about the study, please email me at itzac@uw.edu.

    Thank you very much.

    Sincerely,

    Itza A. Carbajal
