The Archives Management Section welcomes nominations and self-nominations for the following positions on the steering committee for the 2024-25 year:
- ·Vice Chair/Chair-Elect (3-year commitment cycle as Vice Chair, Chair, and Past Chair): this position runs section leadership meetings, prepares the agenda, and provides overall direction to the section leadership.
- ·Secretary (1-year commitment with annual re-election; 3-year term limit): this position is responsible for attending leadership meetings and keeping minutes.
- ·Steering Committee Member (2 positions, 3-year commitment): this position attends leadership meetings and lends their ideas and expertise to the group to help set goals for the section.
The time commitment is relatively low for this section, with hour-long leadership meetings occurring between monthly and a small handful of virtual discussions and related events throughout the year. Section activities are typically focused on providing opportunities for managers and aspiring managers to connect and engage with each other. This is a great opportunity for a manager, whether seasoned or new, to meet colleagues in similar positions and help others dealing with the many challenges that come with managing an archival repository.
