The state-funded "Ready-Or Not" Cultural Heritage Disaster Preparedness Project is entering its second year! The California State Library is overseeing this initiative to offer on-site emergency preparedness assessments at no cost to organizations in California stewarding cultural heritage collections. As part of a three-year initiative, these assessments provide valuable guidance in creating comprehensive disaster response plans. Each report includes recommendations for mitigating risks, taking emergency preparedness actions, and completing a disaster plan, thereby providing organizations with tools to better protect their collections in an emergency, ensuring that California's cultural heritage is preserved into the future.
