Dear SAA Members,
We are excited to announce a new Component Funding Pilot Program approved by the SAA Council for fiscal years 2026–2028. This initiative provides a dedicated annual allocation of $5,000 to support innovative projects and activities led by SAA component groups.
Projects should:
- Support component group needs
- Explore new and leading ideas
- Build on previous work
- Demonstrate measurable impact
Priority will be given to initiatives that:
- Boost SAA member engagement
- Support sections with limited speaker opportunities
- Bring in expert speakers from outside the archival community
- Span multiple component groups
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Include a sustainability/impact statement
Important Deadlines
- FY26 Funding Requests: Due January 15, 2026 for projects with funds spent by June 30, 2026.
- FY27 Proposed Budget Requests: Due March 1, 2026 for projects with funds spent by June 30, 2027.
Applicants will be notified of the Council's decision in February for FY26 requests.

Submit your request using the Component Group Funding Request Form to your Council liaison and saagovernance@archivists.org.
