The Diversity Committee would like to invite you to participate in an important conversation at this year's Diversity Forum to be held during the SAA Annual Meeting on Monday, August 25 from 11:45-1pm Pacific.
This year's Forum will provide an opportunity for open dialog amongst archivists within a safe space about how they and their work have been directly impacted by recent anti-DEIA actions. Additionally we are launching this
form for folks to share how they and their work have been directly impacted to help frame this discussion.
The Forum will be hybrid, consisting of a welcome from incoming Vice President/President-Elect, Brenda Gunn, a framing of the discussion, then breaking out into smaller thematic groups to discuss how attendees are being professionally impacted. Attendees will be asked to think critically and creatively about how SAA might best support them and their work in this moment. The Diversity Committee will compile notes from these conversations, as well as form responses, and recommend action items to Council.
We are also seeking leads for the various breakout groups. Please contact Diversity Committee Chair Teresa Mora directly should you wish to help facilitate this program and we can provide you with additional information.
