Please register to join the Accessibility and Disability Section (ADS) on Tuesday, 31 October at 2 PM Eastern for a discussion on navigating workplace culture as a Disabled archivist (item 4.3.C in the Strategic Plan). This event is being held in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), with this year's theme being "Advancing Access & Equity." Possible topics include:
- What experiences have you had with employee resource groups (ERGs) or other types of identity-based staff groups?
- For those of you who are supervisors, do you feel you supervise differently as a Disabled person?
- How do you communicate with colleagues to avoid being misinterpreted? How do you socialize and make friends?
- For those of you who have disclosed in the workplace, what has worked well for you? What have the results been?
- What have your experiences been like requesting accommodations since 2020 (especially interested in hearing from people with long COVID-19)?
- Has access to or the presence of remote work and virtual or hybrid events increased or decreased at your workplace?
- How do your other identities intersect with Disability in the workplace?
