We are pleased to announce the publication of the revised Guidelines for Efficient Archival Processing in the University of California Libraries (Version 4). Version 4 features new guidance on:
- Appraisal, with a focus on pre-custodial actions
- Accessioning, the "linchpin of the archival collection management program"
- Deaccessioning
- Born-digital appraisal, accessioning, and processing woven throughout the document
- Updated examples, links, and appendices
We encourage you to take a moment to read and engage with the revised UC Guidelines while many of us are working remotely. We hope this document supports all archivists in practicing the essential principles that guide our work.
