SAA Description Section (2022 Meeting)

DESCRIPTION
At the Description Section business meeting, leadership will share election results and provide updates on the section’s ongoing projects. In addition, representatives from Archives for Black Lives in Philadelphia (A4BLiP), the Technical Subcommittee on Describing Archives: A Content Standard (TS-DACS), the Technical Subcommittee on Encoded Archival Standards (TS-EAS), and Social Networks and Archival Context (SNAC) will provide updates on their groups’ ongoing work.

We will then host a moderated panel discussion on the theme of emotional labor in archival description, featuring authors from an ongoing Descriptive Notes blog series on Archival Labor.
