NEH distributes millions of dollars of grants that support the preservation, digitization, access, public programming, and exhibition efforts of archives, among many other programs that benefit cultural heritage organizations.

| | | Yesterday afternoon, Representative Josh Brecheen (R-OK-02) introduced an amendment to the FY 2025 Interior Appropriations bill that would drastically cut funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). In the coming days, the House will likely vote on the amendment. The amendment would cut the NEH's FY 25 funding to $150 million-a $57 million cut from its FY 24 funding level and a $53.9 million cut from the House's current proposed funding for FY 25.
