Dear members of the Encoded Archival Standards community,
TS-EAS is seeking to fill one international and two SAA based vacancies in TS-EAS during the fall of 2024. We seek new members through open calls and will evaluate all applications.
TS-EAS meets virtually three times a year and in a hybrid setting at its annual meeting (committee members must attend at least two of these), as well as in smaller teams working with specific tasks like the maintenance of the EAC-CPF and EAD standards, outreach activities, and more. We expect all members to be able to devote time to participate in the work of TS-EAS. We try to meet in person once a year, during the SAA Annual Meeting, and would appreciate it if you as a member of the TS-EAS can be there.
We encourage applications from all parts of the archival community. This year, we are especially interested in anyone who wants to engage in the EAS family of standards and their future. Familiarity with XML-related technologies is always a plus, but never a requirement.
The time required to participate in TS-EAS can vary considerably, but in general you should expect to set aside an average of two hours per week and to participate in at least two of four committee-wide meetings each year. For more information, we encourage you to read our committee handbook, specifically the page on Meeting Policies and Procedures: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://github.com/SAA-SDT/TS-EAS-subteam-notes/wiki/Meeting-Policies-and-Procedures__;!!EDx7F7x-0XSOB8YS_BQ!ZSfrW9UqvDlQqim_VmsPHhKlFnPqLjof1zmaVwUz-SQtg7jo08KmQO5C8BYmXvfhhcQcZbToCg$
We invite you to send your application through the online form at https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://app.smarterselect.com/programs/76215-Society-Of-American-Archivists__;!!EDx7F7x-0XSOB8YS_BQ!ZSfrW9UqvDlQqim_VmsPHhKlFnPqLjof1zmaVwUz-SQtg7jo08KmQO5C8BYmXvfhhcQuJZfdAQ$ .
To volunteer, please complete the self-nomination form by Sunday, 15 December 2024.
Best regards,
