We are pleased to announce that the special issue of Archival Science on provenance has been published. Dedicated to the memory of Dr. Ciaran B. Trace, the issue includes her last written piece, "The Archive as Home: Ruminations on Domestic Notions of Provenance".
In total, the issue includes 18 essays, with several more, due to publishing deadlines, to appear as part of the overall Provenance collection in 2025. As we note in the Introduction, "The many perspectives put forward by the authors suggest that it is … premature to offer an analysis of the state of provenance today when its meanings and applications are so volatile, in the best of ways".

Thank you to the authors, peer reviewers, and editors-in-chief who helped to bring this special into being.
With appreciation,
Jeannette Bastian, Stanley Griffin, and James Lowry
