This is the Museum Archives section's second call for written submissions for the upcoming SUMMER 2023 (vol 33, no 1) issue of the Museum Archivist newsletter.
Submitting to the newsletter is a great way to connect with the community while highlighting your work or institution, sharing project updates, and reporting on the news with colleagues. All MAS members and institutional affiliates are open to contributing to the newsletter, and we look forward to hearing from a variety of institutions and members part of the MAS community.
The deadline for submission is Monday, July 10, 2023, to saamasnewsletter@gmail.com.
Consider one of the following topics:
- Report on in-progress or completed projects you might like to share on
- Professional updates about yourself or a colleague
- Share your experience working in the hybrid environment and how you are serving your community
- Decolonizing museum archives
- Reports or updates on DEAI initiatives at your institutions
- Community archives or community-based projects
- Featured reviews on current exhibitions or archival collections
- Features on projects that highlight a particular topic, a new technology, or something notable to the community
- Internship and project profiles that highlight colleagues' work
- Future events or public programs that would be of interest to the Section
- Write a review of a new catalog or book that might interest the Section.
Finally, consider submitting to the "Meet Your Fellow Archivist" Section of the newsletter by introducing yourself or interviewing a colleague and sharing with the Museum Archive community. Consider responding with the following questions:
- Name of the person
- Their position or title
- Any affiliated organization (e.g., institution, organization, self-employed, etc.)
- Tell us about your position or institution and how you came to work there.
- What does your workday look like? How do you spend most of your time daily?
- Tell us about an exciting object or collection in your archives.
- Share information about an exciting project you are working on or have recently completed (feel free to submit images or a link).
- Share a review of an exhibition you recently visited or a publication or book you recently read.

General word-length guidelines: 250-500 words for profiles and updates; 500-1000 longer articles on collections, special projects, and topics are welcome. High-resolution images and audio and video clips are accepted and encouraged. Please provide citations with any photograph submitted.

The Museum Archivist newsletter follows The Chicago Manual of Style.
