Second call for MAS Steering Committee members with extended deadline until May 28!
Help steer the Museum Archives Section! We have three positions open on the upcoming election ballot. Museum Archives Section (MAS) leaders help plan activities, connect with section members, and work to improve the health of the Section overall. Attending the SAA Annual Meeting is NOT required. Please consider nominating yourself for one of these important roles. All positions are two year terms.
Vice-Chair/Chair Elect: During their first year, the Vice-Chair/Chair Elect assists the Section Chair and takes on any projects the Chair may assign them. During their second year, they succeed as the Section Chair, who presides over the Section meetings and directs the Section's activities. The position of Chair is also responsible for all communications and submissions to the SAA Council and SAA Executive Office. (Estimated time commitment: Year 1: 1-4 hours/month; Year 2: 2-5 hours/month)
Recording Secretary: Records the proceedings of the section's annual meeting and participates in other steering committee meetings. (Estimated time commitment: 1-4 hours/month)
Web Liaison: Responsible for maintaining the Section microsite, which includes posting the meeting minutes and newsletter, updating announcements, and making sure all other information is accurate. (Estimated time commitment: 1-2 hours/month)
