The SAA Oral History Section invites you to a community chat on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 2-3 pm EST with oral history archivists Lauren Kata and Steven Sielaff, who will discuss a new crosswalking project spearheaded by the Oral History Metadata Elements List. Part of the leadership team for the Oral History Association Metadata Working Group, Kata and Sielaff will talk about how the Metadata Elements List came about, an already-completed OHA pilot crosswalk project, and the kind of metadata expertise that the Working Group still needs. If you have oral history cataloging experience in Dublin Core, EAD, MARC, or PB Core and want to learn more about the crosswalk initiative, please join us for this informative chat!

A Q&A will follow Kata's and Sielaff's talks. This event will be recorded.
