Presenter: Shu Wan is currently matriculated as a doctoral student in history at the University at Buffalo. As a digital and disability historian, he serves in the editorial team of Digital Humanities Quarterly and Nursing Clio.
Overview: This one hour session will introduce novices to using GitHub in order to access open source software. The presentation will cover "What is GitHub?" and discuss how to set up Git, install GitHub Desktop, create and fork a repro, and GitHub flow. The session will conclude with a demonstration on accessing the tool MagickSlicer, a tool used to split image files.
