The Society of American Archivists Foundation has recently awarded two disaster recovery grants to institutions recovering from the floods in Kentucky this summer.

The Museum of Mountain Dulcimer and Appalachian School of Luthiery was awarded $5,000 to aid in the restoration of repository functionality and clean-up of artifacts and records significantly damaged by the flash flood.

The Appalshop Archive was awarded $5,000 to cover costs of transportation of records to new facilities to assist with their restoration and preservation after incurring flood damage.

The National Disaster Recovery Fund for Archives was established by SAA and the Society of Southwest Archivists to provide grants to repositories throughout the U.S., regardless of region or repository type. Grants of up to $5,000 are available at any time to help with immediate disaster recovery needs.

If you would like to help support institutions through their disaster recovery efforts, consider donating to the NDRFA Fund
