Request for Participation: Call to Individuals Providing Care

  • 1.  Request for Participation: Call to Individuals Providing Care

    Posted yesterday

    Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for considering our request. Following up on our 2019 article on the Cost of Care in the Journal of Western Archives, we distributed a survey and conducted a series of 1:1 interviews. The data we collected allowed us to publish in the American Archivist on the impossible balance of caregiving during the pandemic

We are seeking additional caregivers of dependents, partners, parents, family, siblings, and friends, to interview in a new round of research. We believe that there is more to explore as it pertains to benefits, professional development and post-pandemic work accommodations for caregivers. To better understand these topics, we need to expand this next phase of research. If you are a caregiver and archivist, we hope you will consider sharing your experiences with us by signing up to participate in an interview.

If you are interested in contributing to the conversation, we would be grateful if you would consider participating in a 1:1 interview.* Interviews can last anywhere from 45-60 minutes and while they will be recorded, we will redact PII information prior to coding the interviews. You can review the consent form in advance.

If you would like more information please email alexisbraunmarks [at] gmail.com or use the following link if you are ready to schedule an interview

    We appreciate you,

Alexis Braun Marks, Rachael Dreyer, Jennifer Johnson and Michelle Sweetser

*Please note that this research is not being conducted on behalf of, or funded by, any single organization.
