The University Libraries of the University of Massachusetts Amherst seek a new head of the Robert S. Cox Special Collections and University Archives Research Center (SCUA). Reporting to the Dean of University Libraries, this key role provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the department and demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of SCUA operations.
Known as the repository of the papers of W. E. B. Du Bois, Daniel Ellsberg, Jodi Picoult, and others, and the home of the Irma McClaurin Black Feminist Archive, and reaching communities on campus and far beyond through research support and archival instruction, SCUA is poised for transformation. We seek a dynamic head to lead a dedicated staff of professionals and engage with stakeholders across and beyond the organization, to support and further our mission of preserving cultural heritage materials, promoting free inquiry, and inspiring discovery and joy in learning.
