Good day SAA colleagues and International Archival Affairs Section friends,
Please mark your calendars for 21 August 2025, 12-1p EDT, for the fourth of four Archival Landscapes Seminars. We finish this season's series of webinars by visiting South America, specifically the country of Perú.
Join IAAS members as we welcome Dora Alicia Palomo Villanueva, Coordinator of the Archive of the Pontifical Catholic University of Perú (PUCP) and Laura Yturbe Mori, General Archive of the Nation of Peru, Records Management Specialist.
Our Peruvian colleagues will offer attendees "A historical overview of the Archivo General de la Nación del Perú, emphasizing the foundational role of Guillermo Durand in the organization of the national archival system." Their summary also "refers to national and international professional archival associations, outlines the evolution of archival education and professional training in the country, and describes recent changes in archival legislation and regulatory frameworks." As such, these components, and our guest professionals, will "help to contextualize the main developments and current transformations in archival practice in Peru."
Per usual, this event is open to the public, however, registration is required; please register at:
