Hi all,
Last call! The User Experience Section is seeking nominations for the following positions:
-
The Vice Chair/Chair-Elect is a three-year term, serving the first year as Vice Chair, the second year as Chair, and the third as Immediate Past Chair. The Vice Chair assists the Chair in conducting section business. The Vice Chair becomes the Chair of the section in the second year of the term. With the advice and assistance of the steering committee, the Chair presides over steering committee and section meetings, directs section activities, appoints liaisons, and submits a final annual section report to SAA Council following the end of their term as Chair. The Chair remains on the steering committee for a third year, in the role of Past-Chair as a facilitator, but does not lead the committee.
-
A Member-at-Large serves a two-year term, participates in steering committee meetings, and provides input, and general support to the Section Steering Committee. They may be assigned to specific tasks as needed by the Chair. There are two Members-at-Large at all times, serving staggered terms.
To learn more about these positions, please see our standing rules.
In the 2024-2025 year, the Section will be focusing on collaborations with other sections and subcommittees, publishing a Special Section on UX in Archives for the American Archivist, and beginning to build a toolkit for facilitating User Experience research in the field. This is a great time to get involved if you are especially interested in making it easier to be an effective archival practitioner and researcher. Please feel free to contact any member of the Steering Committee with questions about the activities of the Section and the Steering Committee. We welcome and encourage self-nominations.
If interested, please submit the following by Friday, May 24, 2024, to the UX Section Steering Committee at saa.uxsteering@gmail.com:
Best regards,
User Experience Section Steering Committee
