Meral will share tips on getting started, including how to prepare for an interview, how to ask questions that encourage people to share, and how to record in person and remotely.

Meral Agish (she/her) directs the Queens Memory Project at Queens Public Library, a community-engaged archiving program and oral history collection covering the borough of Queens, New York. An oral historian with 20 years of experience, she leads regular public workshops on oral history, manages collaborations with community partners and library colleagues, and has presented at events convened by the Public Library Association, the Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York, Urban Librarians Unite, and others. She hosted the award-winning second season of Queens Memory's podcast, "The Borough We Became: Queens Residents on Life during COVID-19" and recently served as the chair of the Oral History Association's Public Programming Committee.
