Reminder: the Manuscript Repository Section steering committee invites you to join us on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00am for our February speakers in the Manuscript Minute series!
The Georgia Archives Institute (GAI) is a two-week program offering instruction in the basic concepts and practice of archival administration and the management of traditional and modern documentary materials. Started in 1967, it is recognized throughout the archival community as a strong program through which archivists, librarians, and students can learn theoretical and practical knowledge of modern archives. GAI was awarded the 2017 SAA Distinguished Service Award and continues to work with archival organizations in Atlanta for a practical, hands-on approach to learning.
Georgia Archives Institute board members Morna Gerard and Becky Sherman will talk about identified GAI outcomes, the faculty and logistics of the program, and what they look for in candidates. There will be time for questions and discussion at the end.
Please register as there is a 30-person cap on the discussion.
Thank you and see you there!
