Let's talk: Innovative Programming in Public Library Archives! During her time at the Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) Archives, Heidi Morse has supported projects that bring Black and LGBTQ+ history into the visual landscape and cultural memory of present-day Ann Arbor, Michigan–including historical markers, walking tours, documentary films, and exhibits. In this talk she will share details about her role in two recent projects: an LGBTQ+ Walking Tour produced to celebrate the city's bicentennial, and a Black history mural series produced in collaboration with a local museum and the city of Ann Arbor.
Heidi Morse (she/they) is an Archives Librarian at the Ann Arbor District Library, where she has worked for eight years. Prior to that, she was a lecturer in English and African American studies at the University of Michigan. She leads AADL's oral history initiatives and supports community-driven archival projects.
We look forward to hosting Heidi, and engaging in collaborative discussion-see you there! Registration is required.
