Jeanne Riordan is a two time retiree, first in 2005, at the age of 60 from a position with the Halifax Regional School Board as Speech/Language Pathologist. Second, in 2023, at age 78, from the Directorship of the Shambhala Archives. Working as a volunteer in Archives in 2010, (following a long retreat at Gampo Abbey,) Jeanne became project manager for the description, documentation and archival housing of a collection of artwork, ceremonial objects and personal artifacts of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Tibetan Buddhist teacher who escaped from Tibet in 1959, and who later became the founder of the Shambhala community. In 2016 Jeanne became Shambhala Archives' Archival Assistant, responsible for supporting the Technical Director who maintained the vast audio/video records of talks and ceremonies by renowned Tibetan and Zen Buddhist teachers. She was also responsible for the care of the historical paper documents, photographs and artwork belonging to the International Shambhala Community located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Jeanne was appointed Director in 2022.
Tillie Perks holds a master's degree in Tibetan Buddhism and is currently working towards a PhD in Buddhism at McGill University. Her master's work focused on the Tibetan literary influences in Chogyam Trungpa's English poetry. Her research today focuses on the history of "modern" and global Buddhism, decolonial practices, and spiritual power. She is currently the director of the Shambhala Archives.
