The Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) at Syracuse University Libraries seeks an Access Services Supervisor to ensure equitable researcher access to rare and unique collection materials in a fast paced and team-oriented Public Services department serving SU and the broader local and global communities. The Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the SCRC Reading Room, supervising a team of student employees, coordinating researcher visit requests via Aeon and Outlook, answering reference inquiries, participating in the reference desk rotation, and managing requests for duplication of collection materials. This position reports to the SCRC Reference and Access Services Librarian.
Required qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in a related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Two years of relevant work experience in public service areas of a library, museum, or other cultural heritage or academic service setting.
· Demonstrated supervisory and/or service management experience.
· Demonstrated ability to conduct research and answer information requests.
· Commitment to contributing to an equitable, inclusive, and accessible environment.
Desired qualifications
· Experience with special collections or library circulation and tracking systems (e.g. Aeon, Ex Libris Alma, Jira).
· Coursework in a related field
Department Description
SCRC is a vibrant research and learning environment responsible for preserving and providing access to renowned rare and archival collections, and promoting personal discovery and new knowledge through research, hands-on classes, exhibitions, lectures and public programs. SCRC's collections span time and format, documenting the history of Syracuse University and our global society through printed materials, photographs, artworks, audio and moving image recordings, University records, and more. Collection areas include, but are not limited to, activism and social reform, architecture and design, history of the book, popular culture, photography, history of recorded sound and broadcasting, Pan Am Flight 103/Lockerbie Air Disaster, and Syracuse University history.

Pay Rate
$25.86 - $27.80 per hour
