The University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press seeks a dynamic individual to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of its Special Collections Department.
As a department in the Division of Special Collections and Museums, Special Collections holds manuscripts, rare books, maps, prints, photographs, broadsides, periodicals, pamphlets, and ephemera from the fifteenth century to the present. Manuscript collections span more than 10,000 linear feet and printed collections number more than 200,000 titles. Particular subject strengths in UD's notable collections are Fine and Decorative Arts; English, Irish, and American literature; history, including African American history and Delawareana; politics and public policy; Printing history and the book arts; and Sciences, including horticulture and the history of chemistry. Special Collections actively engages with the University's faculty and students, and communities more broadly, to make use of its collections through instruction, exhibition, and research services programs.

Appointment is based on relevant professional experience and expected at the rank of Associate Librarian / Library Department Head I (pay grade 32E, midpoint $87,336) or full Librarian / Library Department Head II (pay grade 33E, midpoint $103,056), per the University of Delaware Library Rank and Promotion System.
