Harvard Library is pleased to announce recruitments for two senior leaders, the Director of Public Services for Archives and Special Collections and Director of Technical Services for Archives and Special Collections. Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Archives and Special Collections, the Directors will build on recent planning efforts to implement a vision for integrated services for archives and special collections activities within the Archives, Arts, and Special Collections portfolio (Harvard University Archives, Houghton Library, Eda Kuhn Music Library, Fine Arts Library, Harvard Film Archive). The Directors will bring together public services and technical services expert staff from the Harvard University Archives and Houghton Library to create new departments charged with developing common, coordinated, and efficient approaches to archives and special collections operations that facilitate better sharing of resources and expertise and building of new capacity to address ongoing and emerging priorities. The Directors will be critical drivers in a strategic movement to create a more collaborative and cohesive approach to archives and special collections activities throughout the libraries at Harvard and will be expected to advance the library's Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Antiracism programs and activities.
