The Walter P. Reuther Library of Wayne State University seeks creative, curious, and service-oriented applicants for the full-time, two-year term position of Instruction and Outreach Archivist.  

Reporting to the Reuther Library Director, the position will lead instruction and outreach activities that engage constituent communities and promote the use and development of archival collections. The successful candidate will also work closely with peer Archivists, Librarians, and University staff and faculty to incorporate primary sources into classroom instruction and present coordinated, comprehensive information literacy instruction to targeted student communities. This two-year role will be provided with dedicated peer mentoring to aid in onboarding, development of pedagogical and research support skills, and familiarity with the Reuther archival collections. 

The position is a 1.0 FTE, regular, 12-month, benefits-eligible appointment as Academic Staff, and an AAUP-AFT represented position with eligibility for promotion. The successful candidate will be hired at the rank of Archivist I or II with a salary range from $55,000-65,000 according to qualifications and experience. This is a majority in-person position based at the Walter P. Reuther Library.  This two-year appointment is contingent on ongoing funding.
