The Crisis, Disaster, and Tragedy Response Working Group invites you to join us at our annual business meeting this year for a talk on Collecting and Documenting Crisis, Disaster, and Trauma.
This talk will introduce challenges, principles and strategies of collecting and documenting materials related to contemporary crises. It will focus on the importance of sensitive, inclusive, and ethical practices in response to crises such as mass violence events, natural disasters, accidents, social unrest, and global pandemics. The talk will be structured around the questions of Why, When, Who, What, How and Impact of collecting/documentation and draw on the resources and recommendations outlined in SAA's Documenting in Times of Crisis: A Resource Kit, as well as other cases of crisis collecting internationally.
