Descriptive Notes is the blog of SAA's Description Section, featuring discussions relating to issues of archival description. We would like to hear from you about your case studies, projects, collaborations, and any conversations that would be of interest to readers. We are currently soliciting pieces for a new series on Cataloging Description. Cataloging, controlled access/search terms, and controlled vocabularies are an important part of access in the archives. In our new series, Descriptive Notes wants to explore the different workflows, choices, and vocabularies used by archivists as they describe their collections.
