The Committee on Ethics and Professional Conduct invites you to read the new blog post: Artificial Intelligence is a Tool by CEPC member Eirini Karoutsos of the Massachusetts Archives. Eirini reflects on her experiences as a reference archivist and the increasing use of AI to help (or hinder) patrons' search for materials. She provides her insights on how to help guide patrons in better use of this emerging technology.

If you would like to submit your own blog post on ethics and how it impacts the profession, speak up!

The blog post should reflect the principles set forth in the current SAA Core Values and Code of Ethics. The goal is to develop a series of writings that address archival ethics in actionable, approachable language so that the resulting work can be used both as pedagogical tools and as practical resources in the workplace. Suggested length is 500 to 1,500 words.

The Committee also wants to hear from students and new professionals.  To submit a blog post, please use the SUBMISSION FORM.  All submissions will be reviewed by a member of CEPC and may be edited in collaboration with the author before publication. Accepted submissions will be electronically distributed on the CEPC blog under a Creative Commons license, with copyright retained by the authors. You can link this article back to your web site.
