A new Case Study has been posted. “Archiving Oral Histories at Columbia University Libraries,” by Kimberly Springer (Columbia University Libraries) describes the formation and ongoing evolution of best practices for conducting oral history interviews and for creating an oral history archives. The methodology is based on the Columbia Center for Oral History Research (CCOHR) and Oral History Archives at Columbia (OHAC). This study outlines the types of records housed in an oral history archives, traces preservation challenges with different media over the years, and describes the partnerships and resources that have allowed OHAC to expand and shape oral history narratives. This is Case 21 in the
Campus Case Studies series, an open access series reporting on working solutions for a range of topics in academic institutions and sponsored by SAA's College and University Archives Section.
