Focus on Collections: Women's History Month
As part of PLASC's commitment to further engagement with our members and institutions, we will be highlighting collections that pay homage to the "National Heritage Months".
March is recognized as Women's History Month. Starting as "Women's History Week" in 1982, this celebration was expanded to the month of March by Congress in 1987 at the urging of the National Women's History Project, an organization founded in 1980 in Santa Rosa, California, and now known as the Women's History Alliance. This month we uplift the contributions women have made to our communities. Typically, we choose public libraries to highlight, but many of these collections are part of collaborative projects and/or housed in state and academic libraries.
Enjoy!
