In the latest entry in the Intergenerational Conversations series, Kate Thornhill (University of Oregon) reviews John Fleckner’s article “The Last Revolution and the Next” from the Journal of Archival Organization 2, no. 1–2 (2004). She reflects on how technology has reshaped the archives landscape even more since Fleckner’s article, paying particular attention to the rise of generative AI. Thornhill writes, “…it is archivists’ duty to navigate the ethical complexities and challenges posed by generative AI, while simultaneously harnessing its potential to improve the profession’s work.” Read the full review and check out the other great pieces on the Reviews Portal.
