Please join us for a chat about an amazing collection of materials about Operation Babylift with Independent Researcher Devaki Murch. Devaki is one of the survivors of the C5A crash that took place during the massive evacuation of children from Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War. She oversees the Operation Babylift Collection, an archive project consisting primarily of records obtained from the Friends For All Children adoption agency. It includes official documentation including USAF crash reports, passenger manifests and MAC monologue as well as transportation records and individual adoptee files. Devaki will talk about her experiences working with these important documents and her search for additional documentation like intake records from Pendleton, the Presidio (Travis AFB) or McChord AFB for the children or volunteers that participated in Operation Babylift and in resettling the children in their new homes in the United States. Please come to learn about this fascinating aspect of Vietnam War history. A calendar invite is attached.
