Dear colleagues,
Hello from the California History Room in the California State Library!
We wanted to let you know about our upcoming event in our free virtual speaker series:
- Thursday, November 16, 2023, 4:00-5:30pm (PST): The West End: How Urban Reform Destroyed a Sacramento Neighborhood - Historian William Burg discusses his book, Wicked Sacramento, exploring how early 20th-century civic reformers demolished multiracial neighborhoods, including one of Sacramento's most vibrant ones, the West End, and answers the question of how we commemorate the history and legacy of a place that no longer exists. For more information and to register, visit http://bit.ly/WestEnd2023.
Please feel free to distribute information about this event to anyone you think may have an interest. We hope you'll be able to attend this event!
Cheers,
Sue Tyson
