The  Local Government Records Section Steering Committee is seeking new members to run in this year's section election!
Steering Committee members help craft responses to SAA Council's requests for comments and feedback, guide any projects that the section undertakes, and organize section meetings.   The overall time commitment is small, but the reward is great.

This year are three openings on the Steering Committee:  Vice Chair/Chair elect and two Members-at-Large.

If interested, or if you have any questions about the positions, please send an email to Andrea Gietzen, Chair (gietzena@michigan.gov), or John Slate, Vice Chair/Incoming chair (john.slate@dallascityhall.com), with the following info:

-Name + Job Title and Institution
    - Position Applying for
-Government Sector (municipal, other local, state/provincial/tribal, etc.)
    -Candidate Bio (1-2 sentences)
-Candidate Statement (tell the voters why you want to be on the committee in 1-2 paragraphs)

This is a great way to get involved in SAA!  Please consider nominating yourself!  Please send nominations by Wednesday, June 15th.

This year the Local Government records section will host our 2022 Annual Meeting jointly with the Government Records Section on Monday, July 18th.    Keep your eyes peeled for more details here as we get closer to the date.
