    CALL FOR CANDIDATES

Are you interested in becoming more involved with SAA and serving as a leader for the Visual Materials Section? The Visual Materials Section is currently accepting nominations for the 2023/2024 Steering Committee!
    • Vice Chair / Chair Elect (1 position, 3-year commitment:
one year as vice-chair, one year as chair, one year as immediate past chair)
    • Member at Large (1 position, 3-year commitment)

    Duties:
The Vice Chair shall advise and assist the Chair in conducting the Section's business. The Vice Chair spends their first year working closely with the Chair to learn how the section is run. In the second year, they take over the Chair role, and in the third year, they serve as Immediate Past Chair.

In the absence of the Chair, the Vice Chair assumes the duties of Chair. The Vice Chair leads the Three-Year Plan Working Group and submits a draft plan to the membership for review and the Chair for approval. The Vice Chair leads program planning for the annual meeting.

Members-at-Large attend and actively contribute to regular committee meetings, help set goals and priorities for the section, and develop or solicit proposals for the section's session at the SAA Annual Meeting.

For more information about the Visual Materials section and the roles of leadership, please visit the Visual Materials Section microsite and especially the Section's standing rules.

If you are interested in serving, please submit a brief biography and candidate statement describing your interest in serving in one of these positions. Please submit your nomination to Stefanie Caloia, Immediate Past Chair, Visual Materials Section, at SCaloia@wayne.edu no later than Thursday, May 30, 2024.
