Hello Independent Archivists!
Our annual section meeting will be Thursday August 1st at 11:00 (Central). We will announce the results of our election and discuss the future of the section.
We will wrap up the meeting with a panel and a Q and A: "Independent Archivists: Their journey, and the issues they are facing today". Our excellent panel of three are all experienced, working independent archivists; Dominique Luster, CEO & Principal Archivist of The Luster Company, Katy Klettlinger of Lyrasis, and Josiah Peralta of Activision. These archival professionals bring years of experience in the field, working in all facets of the industry. Our panelists are assembled from archival professionals including those with independent contractor and contract relationships to being within a company or organization but working in a small department, often as the only archivist. We look forward to hearing them discuss how they first entered the field, and having the opportunity to ask questions on their careers and how they work within their institutions or companies.
