Please join us for the Unconference: Advocating for Archival Workers at the SAA 2023. We'll meet on-site on Friday, July 28, from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Hilton, Monroe Room. We'll focus on the needs of archival workers: A living wage, health and safety protections, and the right to organize and unionize. This highly participatory session, co-facilitated by the Archival Workers Collective (AWC), the Concerned Archivists Alliance (CAA) and the Mutual Aid at Work Working Group, will offer space for collective brainstorming while developing tangible action items to advance. We'll establish the agenda at the meeting, and you are all welcome to bring topics, concerns, and energy to the session. We are planning a summary "State of the Union" overview at the beginning of the session to set the stage and will also have plenty of time and opportunity to report back from other SAA sessions focusing on labor issues.
