Job Title: Digital Asset Management (DAMS) Archivist

About Us: ChromaDiverse, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to preserving and managing digital assets with our innovative CD DigitalVault™, a trademarked Digital Asset Management System customized for performing arts organizations. We work closely with clients to ensure their digital archives are secure, accessible, and well-organized.
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Digital Archivist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the CD DigitalVault (DAMS), assessing community partner needs, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process. This role involves preparing the DigitalVault for new clients, providing training and support, monitoring and documenting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with and assess community partner needs and develop tailored onboarding plans for scale.
- Prepare the CD DigitalVault for community partners, ensuring all digital assets are properly, named, organized and accessible.
- Coordinating with different teams or organizations to gather new assets and ensure they meet set standards.
- Construct web-based portals using templated tools for our community partners to support intuitive search and retrieval of their assets. HTML knowledge a plus.
- Train our community partners on how to use the CD DigitalVault effectively.
- Provide ongoing support addressing any issues or questions.
- Monitoring and maintaining the integrity and security of digital assets.
- Document processes and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other CD team members to improve and enhance the DigitalVault services.
- Ability to demonstrate CD DigitalVault capabilities to prospective partners, and public via teleconferencing and webinars.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on digital asset management trends and associated technologies.
Qualifications:
- Candidates for the role should ideally have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a related field such as Content Management and/or Digital Asset Management.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Library Science, Information Management, or a related field preferred
- Experience and proficiency in digital asset management systems (DAMS) including but not limited to standards for organizing, categorizing and archiving digital content.
- Strong technical acumen to understand file formats, metadata standards, and other technical aspects of digital assets.
- Experience with data analysis to track usage of digital assets, identify trends and make data-driven decisions to improve asset management.
- Excellent project management skills to oversee the ingestion, cataloguing, storage and retrieval of digital assets.
- Awareness of copyright laws, intellectual property rights and digital rights management to ensure compliance in the use and distribution of digital assets.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Problem solving skills to address any issues that may arise in the storage, retrieval or use of digital assets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Analytics, Canva or other tools, HTML/CSS, JIRA or other project management tools.
Benefits:
- We offer a competitive hourly pay rate for this contractor role, with 30-40 hours per week. Annual pay can range from $50,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
