Dear Colleagues,
Please join us on March 6th for the next in our series of discussions with colleagues in the field. Please also note the earlier start time than previous meetings.
Meet and Greet #3
“Dance and its Revolutions in the 20th Century,”
a talk with Anne-Lise Depoil
March 6, 2024
1:00pm EST
Anne-Lise Depoil is the collections manager for archival materials in the département des Arts du spectacle at the Bibliothèque nationale de France. She is a graduate of both the Ecole nationale des chartes and the Institut national du patrimoine (the French school which trains curators), becoming a curator specializing in historical records in 2016. Anne-Lise served first as deputy director of the Archives départementales du Bas-Rhin in Strasbourg (2017-2021), where she was in charge of public outreach. She joined the BnF in 2021. In addition to overseeing personal collections and archive materials from playwrights and stage directors such as Peter Brook, Gordon Craig, and Eugène Ionesco, she currently is working towards enhancing access to records of female playwrights and stage directors, who are critically underrepresented in the BnF collections.
Anne-Lise also served as the curator of “La Danse et ses Revolutions,” which opened on 7 October 2023 and will be on display through March 24, 2024 in the BnF museum rotunda, and will be talking about this exhibition with us.
