CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Descriptive Notes is also issuing a call for its next series: Visual Materials Description. Does your institution collect visual materials? What descriptive tools, standards, and/or processes do you use to describe these materials for researcher access or collections management? What particular challenges do visual materials pose for archival description? Descriptive Notes is looking for articles, announcements, case studies, and other posts related to the how, what, and why of visual materials description at your institution to share with our readership.
For this series, please pitch us a short description of your submission idea by November 15. We also always welcome posts on a rolling basis for our other series, as well as any other articles, announcements and updates, shared resources, and visual content relating to issues of archival description.
Send all pitches to SAAdescription@gmail.com. You can view previous posts and series here: saadescription.wordpress.com. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We look forward to your submissions!
Best,
Betts Coup, on behalf of the Descriptive Notes Editorial Team
